Airport and Customs
Citizens from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, can travel to Chile with their national ID card. Visitors from other countries need a valid passport. To enter Chile a visa valid for 30 to 90 days is required. The list of countries which require a VISA to enter Chile can be seen HERE.

Due to the reciprocity system with certain countries, the Chilean Government charges a fee when entering the country. This fee must be paid in US dollars at immigration, located at the airport before International Police. Visitors with passports from the following countries must pay this fee:
• Australia
• Canada
• Mexico

International travellers must make an item declaration at Customs when entering the country. Electronic items, such as video cameras or personal computers, must be declared as “temporary access objects”. Foreign tourists usually don’t have any problem at Customs as long as they are travelling with just their personal belongings and among them are not included:
• Fruits, seeds, vehicles or unprocessed animal products.
• Firearms, ammunition or explosives.
• Illegal drugs.
